   Slick roads cause one car crash on 267.

Around 15:00 on Sat January 8th, Station 2, Ambulance 2, and medic 601 were dispatched for the reported one car MVA route 267 Meshoppen twp. Within minutes Ambulance 2-8, 2-9, and Rescue 2 were on the road. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and Lieutenant 2 (C. Carney) established the 267 command. Crews found two pt's out of the car one with neck pain the other no injuries. Ambulance 2-8 transported one person to a local hospital with ALS and ambulance 2-9 obtained one sign off. Rescue 2 remained on scene until the tow company removed the vehicle and the road way was cleared. 

 

 

Rescue, Engine, and Tanker work 2nd alarm Structure in Springville.

Around 08:00 Station 2 was dispatched to assist Springville fire as part of the first alarm assignment with the Tanker. About three minutes later a 2nd alarm was requested bringing the Rescue and Engine into the scene. Tanker 2 responded with a crew of two within minutes Rescue 2 with an interior crew of 4 and the Engine with a water supply crew of 3 responded right after the 2nd alarm dispatch. Once on scene Tanker 2 assisted in shuttling water from the fill site to the scene. Rescue 2 was requested to send its packed crew to the 2nd story and make entry into the attic. Once entry was made into the attic the crew found heavy fire and a hand line was placed into service knocking down the bulk of the fire. The rescue crew also assisted crews from Springville and Montrose in overhauling the 2nd story. Engine 2 was requested to pump the porta-pond and supply the scene with water. Station 2 crews operated on the scene for around 3 hours before being released by command. No injuries were reported on the scene of the fire. 

 

 

Box 2-4 Kalstar Warehouse.

Around 23:00 on Tuesday December 21st, The box 2-4 was struck for the reported fire at Kalstar warehouse route 6 Meshoppen twp. Station 2, Station 7, and Ambulance 2 were sent on the alarm. Rescue 2, Ladder 2, Tanker 2, Engine 7, Tanker 7, and Ambulance 2-8 responded within minutes. Chief 2 arrived just prior to the Rescue advising the incident was located at door 95 and it would be a malfunctioned heater in a bathroom with no visible fire or smoke. Rescue 2 with a crew 8 arrived on scene and took the thermal camera into the building to assure no fire spread into the wall. With negative findings the heater was removed from the wall and all units were returned to service.

 

 

SR 3009 crash with entrapment.

Saturday night December 18th, around 19:30 Station 2, Ambulance 2, and Medic 601 were dispatched to state route 3009 Auburn twp in the area of Knight hill road for the reported two car MVA with possible injuries and entrapment. Within minutes Rescue 2, Ambulance 2-8 and 2-9 were on the road. Medic 601 had requested the next due ALS truck from Bradford county along with a helicopter on stand by. Chief 2 had Elk Lake fire dispatched to set up the landing zone. Station 4 was also requested for one BLS truck to stand by. Ambulance 2-8 along with the chief would arrive on the scene and advise one patient entrapped two others fled the scene wounded. Rescue 2 would arrive and the crew would start rescue operations. The crew removed the driver side front and back door along with slightly pushing the dash to remove the patient. The patient was removed from the vehicle and handed off to EMS in about 6 min's. Medic 601 made the call to fly the helicopter, due to the road being blocked Elk Lake was returned and Station 5 was requested to set up a LZ in the Meshoppen ball park. Ambulance 2-8 transported the patient to the LZ. Crews would perform a search around the accident scene looking for the other two people with negative findings. After the road way was cleared all units returned to service.

Busy Sunday afternoon for Station 2.

Sunday morning would start about 02:30 for the Station 2 crews with a medical call in Meshoppen boro. About one min after the medical call was dispatched the MVA assignment was be sent out for a truck roll over on route 267 Meshoppen twp. Ambulance 2-8 handled the first medical call and Ambulance 2-9 handled the truck roll over. Rescue 2 was held in station due to poor road conditions. Ambulance 2-8 was sent on another medical call around 07:30 in Meshoppen twp. The next call for the day would come about 15:30 for the box 2-5 Acorn drive Washington twp for the reported car into a house and the house filling with smoke. Rescue 2, Tanker 2, Engine 7-2, Tanker 7-2 and Ambulance 4-1 would be on the assignment. Rescue 2 and Engine 7-2 would arrive and secure the vehicle and clear the house of smoke. Ambulance 4-1 would transport one person to a local hospital. Units operated for about one hour on the assignment. Just after units cleared the Acorn drive call Ambulance 2-8 would be sent on a medical call in Braintrim twp. 

 

 

 

Rescue and Tanker head to Springville for a Structure fire.

Around 13:00 on Wed December 8, Tanker 2 would be dispatched to assist Springville as part of a first alarm working structure fire on Academy street Springville twp. As Tanker 2 was crewing Springville command would request a 2nd alarm bringing Rescue 2 into the scene. Rescue 2 would assist in fire suppression operations while Tanker 2 assisted in water supply operations. Station 2 units operated for several hours on the assist. Engine 5 provided cover up for station 2. 

 

 

Tanker assists Springville on a working structure fire.

Around 13:00 on Monday November 29, Tanker 2 would be dispatched to assist Springville fire on a working structure fire on route 29 about a mile north of the Springville fire hall. Tanker 2 would respond with a crew of 2 and assist in water supply operations for about 2 hours before being released by Springville command.

 

 

Ladder, Rescue, and Tanker assist Station 5 on a structure fire

Around 13:00 on Monday October 25, Station 2 would be requested to assist Station 5(Laceyville) with a full response on a working structure fire on Edinger Hill road. Ladder 2, Rescue 2, and Tanker 2 would respond in minutes on the assist. Once on scene Rescue 2 and Ladder 2 would assist in fire suppression operations while Tanker 2 assisted in water supply operations. Station 2 units operated on the scene for around 3 hours before being released by command 5.

 

 

 

Ladder 2 heads to Montrose on a 2nd alarm Structure fire.

Around 18:00 on Sunday October 24, Ladder 2 was requested as part of the 2nd alarm assignment to assist United fire on a working structure fire in Montrose boro. Ladder 2 responded within minutes. Ladder 2 arrived on scene and was requested by command to place the ladder in the air and assist United tower 3 in overhaul operations on the barn style building. Ladder 2 operated on the scene for about 2 hours before being released by command.

 

 

Second alarm working structure fire Meshoppen boro.

 

Around 08:00 on October 23rd the Meshoppen boro box 2-1 was struck for the reported working structure fire at the intersection of Wells Street and Bridge Street at the old Marty’s Market. Portable 2-15 (C.Carney) was first to arrive on scene and reported a two story commercial structure with heavy fire on the 2nd story and all occupants out of the structure. With this report the 2nd alarm was struck bringing additional resources into the scene. Rescue 2, Tanker 2, Ladder 2, and Ambulance 2-8 were on the road in about 3 minutes. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and the interior crew aboard deployed an attack line into the structure and headed to the 2nd story. Rescue 2 established a water supply from the hydrant at that intersection. The interior crew was overcome by heavy fire and deteriorating conditions the decision was made to back out and regroup. Ladder 2 and Chief 2 (B.Carney) arrived on scene, the Chief established the command and advised Ladder 2 to place the water way into operation. As this was being done mutual aid was arriving on the scene and assisting in fire suppression operations. Engine 7 arrived and dropped 5” from another hydrant establishing the 2nd water supply. Ladder 2 and United tower 3 operated for several hours bringing the fire under control and overhauling. After about an hour into the fire command was notified that the town’s water source was getting low. Command advised Engine 5 and Engine 5-1 to lay 5” from the scene into the ball park and establish a water supply from the creek. Units operated on the scene for around 6 hours. No injuries were reported at the scene of the fire. During the overhaul stage Station 2 and Ambulance 2 were dispatched for a possible truck fire on Route 6 Meshoppen Township. Rescue 2 and Engine 2 responded and were canceled by Meshoppen PD.

2-12-09 MVC Assist.

At approx. 1400 hours Station 2 was requested for Rescue 2 to assist Station 1, Tyler 601, and Triton Fire on Route 29 in Lemon Twp. for a 2 car MVC involving a water truck with entrapment. Rescue 2 responded with a crew of 8. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and staged per incident command. Rescue 2 returned to service after about an hour.

 

 

 

 

 

2-6-09 Working Structure Fire in the Boro.

 

At approx. 2030 hours Station 2 and Tyler 601 (ALS UNIT) were dispatched to Church Street Meshoppen Boro on the reported working structure fire with entrapment. Within minutes Rescue 2, Ladder 2, Engine 2, Tanker 2, and Ambulance 2-8 were responding. Rescue 2 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working structure fire with no entrapment. Station 5 (Laceyville Fire) along with Triton Fire were dispatched to assist. Rescue 2 dropped a 5" supply line from the hydrant on the corner of Church and Loomis. Ladder 2 positioned on the street side of the structure. The rescue crew made access into the structure to initiate search and fire suppression operations. As operations continued, command noted deteriorating structural conditions. At that time command advised Wyoming County 911 to hit the evacuation alarm. Within seconds all crews exited the structure. Ladder 2 was then placed into service for the elevated master stream. The ladder crew soaked the attic of the structure knocking down most of the fire. Crews then advanced hose lines to hit some hot spots and start overhauling. Crews from Meshoppen, Laceyville, and Triton operated on the scene for approx. 4 hours. Elk Lake Fire stood by in Meshoppen with an engine and manpower.

1-22-09 MVC with confinement

At approx. 0102 hrs Ambulance 2 and Tyler 601 were dispatched to assist Pennsylvania State Police for evaluation of a patient involved in a vehicle collision. Ambulance 2-8 arrived on scene to find one patient confined to a mini-van with fluids down. Ambulance 2-8 requested Rescue 2 for extrication. Rescue 2 arrived on scene to control vehicle hazards and assist in the extrication with hydraulic tools. Ambulance 2-8 transported one patient to Tyler Hospital.
